Ross Charles Hairdressing WEBSITE REDESIGN
CASE STUDY
The client—an award-winning hairdressing salon in York, England—gave the brief of rebuilding their dated website. Ross Charles wanted images from his latest hair collection shoot, Sospiri to be the stylistic inspiration for the new-style website, with a half-grey, half-white and splashes of red colour scheme to match the decor of their Italian-inspired salon interior.

SOLUTION
As well as the dated look, it was agreed that the navigational structure of the website was unclear, and visitors found it difficult to navigate and find what they want. UI/UX considerations were added to the brief, and a new menu structure was designed to take visitors to where they expected to find things. Mobile-friendly was also a major consideration, and it was important that the site scaled down well to smaller screens. Development included making sure that the website passed parameters to be defined as a 'progressive web app'—this meant that Ross Charles' clients could add the website to the home screen, and live on mobile screens as an app would. This would increase visibility for the brand and the website.

The shop was also revamped to give potential customers a better shopping experience. Quick View was implemented to allow shoppers to quickly view the products in a popup modal, and a responsive side cart was added, to easily allow people see what they have added to their basket.
